The incredible stonewalls of ancient Peru are some of the most enigmatic structures built by man. How they were accomplished is a hotly debated subject and nobody really has the definitive answer.
But there is another aspect that of these structures that is also little understood, and that’s the age of these incredible feats of architecture.
Now, many independent researchers, including me, have said for a long time that these structures are pre-Inca, meaning they pre-date the powerful Inca civilisation, which became the largest empire in pre-Columbian America.
Ben at UnchartedX and Brien Foerster have been in the field and presented excellent evidence to show why the megalithic stonework pre-dates the Inca, because you can see that the Inca stone is built directly onto the megalithic. There are clearly multiple phases of work, not to mention colonial and modern phases as well.
Many believe that the incredible stonewalls we see in places like Cuzco, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu and Sacsayhuaman, were built by the Inca, whilst there is a strong body of thought as well as physical evidence they are pre-Inca, so in this video, I take a closer look into the origins of the anciet Peruvian stone walls.
