YouTube channels that use AI to make videos which include false science information are being recommended to children as “educational content”, the BBC’s Global Disinformation Team has found.
We identified over 50 channels in more than 20 languages using AI to create videos with pseudo-science or conspiracy theories. With millions of views in their channels, creators make money from placed ads.
YouTube says it is committed to removing misinformation from its platforms.
