Secrets of the Bible | 05 - The Fall of Jericho

Jericho, also called the city of palm trees, lies on the west bank of the Jordan River. The Israelites are said to have brought down the walls of Jericho with trumpets around 1200 BC.

The Old Testament account of the Israelites' liberation from the "slave house" of Egypt, their flight over Mount Sinai and through the desert to the Jordan River, and their conquest of the land of Canaan are questioned by many ancient historians.

What happened in the battle of Jericho? Neither has archaeology been able to discover reliable traces of the immigration of a large group into Palestine nor evidence of a military conquest on a grand scale. Ist Jericho a mystery?

Now archaeologists have found traces that could prove the Old Testament account.
