20 New Discoveries from Karahan Tepe | 9000BC

Whilst making a 20-minute video on Gobekli Tepe, I’ve taken a short break to present to you more than 20 new discoveries from its Pre-Pottery Neolithic sister site of Karahan Tepe.

In recent months I’ve made a handful of videos on this spectacular site, thanks to video provided by the @dakota of earth channel, including spectacular drone footage of the excavations so far. To get some background information and to learn more, I would urge you to watch these two videos:

Karahan Tepe shares many similarities with Gobekli Tepe but it is also very different and these three enclosures specifically, really so set it apart from the other sites in the region.

Recently, the lead archaeologist, Necmi Karul, did an interview on YouTube, where he talks through the site and also showcases many of the fantastic stone artefacts recovered. The interview is nearly 2 hours long, is all in Turkish and there are no English subtitles, so I am currently working through the transcript with Google translate to try and find out any new information.

You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/B26DTbIpdaU

In this video though, whilst I continue to research and write new content, I thought you’d all like to see some of the incredible new discoveries from the site, as well as some more drone footage incase you missed by previous video on the site - enjoy!
