The ancient Pre-Pottery Neolithic site of Göbekli Tepe is one of the true hot topics for those interested in archaeology, and that’s for any number of reasons. It has an incredible age, with origins going back to around 11 and a half thousand years ago.
The size of the site is enormous, and the amazing megalithic pillars are huge, and the associated relief carvings are breathtaking.
And there is still so much more to Göbekli Tepe, and I have a whole playlist of videos you can watch to learn more.
In this video, I’m going to give you a short update on some new and very important discoveries, some of which may well change the way you view this ancient site. And then, at the end of this video, I’ll also tell you about the work planned by archaeologists this year.
And this is all thanks to a new video by Flint Dibble, where he interviews Dr Lee Clare, the excavation and research coordinator for the site, and who works at the German Archaeological Institute.
