Space and Science | The Dark Side of Light

Have you ever thought about light? The sun makes it bright every day and our technical progress also allows us to see at night. But in the meantime, the amount of light is actually causing light pollution.

Light pollution, also known as artificial light pollution, is a growing problem caused by the unnecessary or harmful spread of artificial light at night.

Light pollution can be caused by a variety of light sources, including streetlights, building lighting, advertisements, and even lights in homes and apartments.

The light emitted by these sources can have both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, artificial light increases safety and visibility at night, enhances productivity, and creates a pleasant environment.

On the negative side, however, light pollution can disrupt the natural sleep cycles of animals and humans, affect the visibility of stars, and impact animal orientation.

In this documentary "The Dark Side of Light", learn what science has found about light pollution and how to minimize it.
