In January 2023, you will be able to view a rare comet that has not been seen for the past 50,000 years. The comet has been named C/2022 E3 (ZTF), and when it last flew past the Earth, Neanderthals were walking the planet.
The January 2023 comet will become visible to the naked eye at the end of the month. Viewers in the northern hemisphere have the best chance to see it in the early morning hours.
