The Fantastic Mr. Feynman is a documentary film on the life and work of the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard P. Feynman, produced by BBC Scotland, written and directed by Christopher Riley. It was originally aired in the UK on 12 May, 2013.
Richard Phillips Feynman (1918-1988) was an American theoretical physicist and widely regarded as the most brilliant, influential and iconoclastic figure in his field during the 20th century - during which he remade quantum electrodynamics, the theory of the interaction between light and matter, and thus altered the very way science understands the nature of waves and particles. For this work, he was co-awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1965, tying together in an experimentally perfect package all the varied phenomena at work in light, radio, electricity and magnetism.
