The Assassination of Henry IV (1610)

Paris - May 14th, 1610 - 2:15 pm | Henry IV is assassinated by a religious fanatic, Ravaillac.

On this fateful day Henry IV has just one thing in mind, i.e. finding the woman he loves and keeping her from leaving.

Hassled on all sides to resolve the kingdom's ills, he escapes through the streets of Paris without an escort despite the dangers lurking at every turn.

His death, instigated by radicals to stir up religious hatred, leads, against all expectations, to appeasing the conflicts opposing Catholics with Protestants.
