Stam Fine looks at a TV show cancelled after only a few episodes yet became a comedy legend after it got a second chance as a movie.
Police Squad follows the investigations of Frank Drebin, a moron in a world of morons. Cancelled after only a few episodes aired in 1982, the show's creators, Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker (Airplane, Top Secret), kept the faith long enough to get the series remounted as a feature film, The Naked Gun.
The series stars Leslie Nielsen and Alan North, while George Kennedy joined the film series.
