This was the third year out of the latest four that Pavarotti had made refugees the central focus of this annual event. The concert, was held in Modena, Italy, on Tuesday the 28th of May. A special choir of 30 Angolan refugee children, specially flown in from Zambia, and 30 Italian children also performed on stage.
